We ask that all participants stay until Sunday after the stallion Futurity.

Membership

1. All owners of Pintabians shown at the Northern MN Pintabian Show & Expo must be current (2007) members of the Pintabian Horse Registry, Inc.   Handlers or riders of horses shown are not required to be members.

Eligible Horses

1. Pintabians.  Pintabians are defined as having  99% or more Arabian blood and tobiano markings.  In order to show your Pintabian at the Northern MN Pintabian Show & Expo you must provide a copy of your registration certificate from the Pintabian Horse Registry, Inc.  If your horse qualifies for registration and you would like to participate in this show,  you may contact the PHRI for registration applications and membership.  You may also request a free information packet about Pintabians. If your horse or foal is pending registration, (you have sent in their application for registration) you may mark "pending" in the blank for the registration number. Call 218-436-SPOT  or write to:  PHRI, P.O. Box 360, Karlstad, MN  56732.  Pintabians may be shown in Half-Arabian classes if they have additional Half-Arabian registration certificates with the HAHR. In game events you may only compete in one breed division, not both.

2. Pintabian Breeding Stock.  If your horse has been verified as having over 99% Arabian blood by the Pintabian Horse Registry, Inc. and you have a Breeding Stock Division registration certificate, you may show in the O (non-color) classes at this show.  Pintabian Breeding Stock horses may also be shown in the Half-Arabian classes if they have additional Half-Arabian registration certificates with the HAHR. In game events you may only compete in one breed division, not both.

3. Arabian and Half-Arabians.  Arabians, Half-Arabians and Half-Arab Pintos are eligible for these classes.  You must provide a copy of your registration certificate from the Arabian Horse Association.  If your Arabian has an additional Arabian Outcross certificate with the PHRI you may show in BOTH the O & Arabian classes at this show.  Half-Arabians are only eligible for Half-Arabian classes unless they have an additional Pintabian Breeding Stock Division certificate from the PHRI, in which case they may participate in the O (non-color) classes.  In game events you may only compete in one breed division, not both.

4. Arabian Outcross. Arabian Outcross horses are Arabians that have been registered with the Pintabian Horse Registry, Inc. in the Outcross Division.  You must provide a copy of your Arabian Outcross registration certificate from the PHRI.  These horses may participate in both the O (non-color) classes and Arabian classes.  In game events you may only compete in one breed division, not both.

5. Pintabian Producer stallions may participate in the Stallion Futurity at the Northern MN Pintabian Show & Expo. You must provide a copy of your Pintabian Producer registration certificate from the PHRI.  Pintabian Producers are verified 63/64 or 98.4% Arabian.

General Information

1. Copies of registration certificates are required for every horse shown in each individual category and must be attached to each entry form.  These divisions are listed above.  If you have sent in your application for registration and have not received your certificate yet, please attach a copy of your application or a note stating that it has been sent in to the registry. Mark "pending" in the blank for registration on your entry form. Please use one entry form for each horse you wish to show.

2. Copies of current negative coggins test are required for each horse (within one year of date of show) with the exception of suckling foals at dam's side.  If you have just weaned your foal, you must present a copy of negative coggins from your vet.  Please attach to your entry form. You must also provide a current health certificate (within 30 days of date of show) by your veterinarian if you are coming from a state other than Minnesota.

3.  You may show your horse in a narrow flat leather halter.  If you have not been able to purchase one, a flat nylon halter will suffice.  We discourage the use of expensive fancy Arabian show halters.  Your horse will not be judged by the tack you use.  Keep this in mind when purchasing tack.

4.  Each horse may only be shown once in each class. You are not allowed to show the same horse in both Walk-Trot Western Pleasure and Western Pleasure.  You must choose one class.  This also applies to Walk-Trot English Pleasure and English Pleasure.

5. Entry forms and fees for each class may be sent in before the show.  There will not be a penalty if you enter the day of the show, however, we encourage you to send it in advance so that we have an idea of how many horses will be attending.

Stallion Futurity

Eligible stallions: 1) Pintabians  2) Pintabian Producers  3) Arabian Outcross.  Owner must attach a copy of PHRI registration certificate to the entry form or your stallion will not be eligible for the futurity.  Send Stallion Futurity Entry Form with enrollment fee to Marlene Holte. In the description of your stallion please state which division your horse is registered in.  People will also be interested to know the bloodlines in your stallion's ancestry. Please print legibly so the announcer does not have a problem reading the description during the parade.  Bids will start at 250.00 for each stallion.

Freestyle Longeline

Eligible horses are 2006 and older.  Horses entered in riding classes are not eligible.  You may bring music of your choice.

NBHA

There will be a NBHA barrel run on Sunday afternoon after the Stallion Futurity Auction.  1:00.

Stalls

1. There is a 15.00 stall rental fee for each horse that attends the show.   Mares w/foals at side may be stalled together and will be considered as one horse.   You may choose to stall two weanlings together or two yearlings together. If your horse is entered in three or more classes, your stall fee is waved.

2.  Shavings for bedding will be available.

3. You may decorate your stalls but it is not required.  There will be a People's Choice Award for the best decorated stall.

4.  Please post a sign above your stall that states your horse/s name and owner/farm information. We hope to have lots of spectators that will enjoy viewing the horses.

5. You may set up a table with farm/horse information in front of your stall at no extra charge.

6. All stalls must be cleaned before you leave the premises.  There will be a 50.00 deposit required for each farm/barn.  After your stall has been inspected your fee will be returned.
